How to Improve Test Perfomance :IIT JEE Topper

Another problem faced by many students is test performance. You study a lot, you know everything, you practice a lot, but still get less marks.

Some factors which affect test performance are speed, accuracy, knowledge, paper attempting strategy, composure, and concentration.
For speed you should try to solve exercises at home in limited time like tests. Knowledge develops over time as you study and practice more. Accuracy can be improved by quickly rechecking the answers by plugging in values, reading options and questions twice, carefulness while solving, etc.
Paper attempting strategy is also very important. For me it was like this after some experimentation.

I attempted all easy and memory based questions in chemistry first, then I went to mathematics and solved a few very easy formula based questions, then I went to physics and solved easy and conventional questions.

Then I attempted chemistry almost fully except the very tough and unknown questions. Then I repeated the same for physics and maths. At last were those questions which were out of the box or very lengthy.
You should be flexible about it and try to experiment and find out what is best for you. For example, on JEE (Main) day, I found the mathematics portion very lengthy so after solving a few questions I resorted to Physics and chemistry. And came to the mathematics leftovers in the end.
For composure and concentration, you have to train yourself. You should be calm and cool whatever the paper is like. If it's tough, it's tough for all. You should try not to get disturbed during examinations.
All the best!
